Jesus said:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”         (Matthew 28:19-20a)

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)

Our Missions Philosophy

According to Jesus, we are to make disciples for Him, calling people to faith and helping them adopt the lifestyle of the Kingdom. The witness of a Spirit empowered church will reach out to it's immediate environment and extend beyond that to the ends of the earth. Our missions strategy is to simultaneously involve the church in reaching out to our community, state, continent, and the world through prayer, teaching, training, giving, and going.

Our strategy is to be missionaries ourselves in the places where we work, the neighborhood where live and the friendships we enjoy. In addition, we support and participate in partnership with our Great Rivers Region (including most of Illinois and Missouri), and other missionaries and mission organizations throughout the country and around the world.

We believe everyone can have a part in this missions strategy in at least one of the following ways: praying, giving, learning, or going. Most in our congregation can participate in all of these ways, but everyone can participate in at least one.
